Dec 10, 2010 — Oil got a small boost yesterday, settling at $88.37 a barrel in New York, up $0.09, after a drop in US jobless claims bolstered confidence that the US economy is improving and will need more oil in the future. Gold also nudged higher, picking up support as the Euro weakened, sending traders into haven plays.
